Blending Traditional Wisdom with Modern Medical Understanding

Acupuncture is a therapeutic technique that uses very fine sterile needles to stimulate specific points on the body. In my practice, acupuncture is used to support the body's natural regulatory systems and may be incorporated into treatment plans for pain, nervous system regulation, hormonal health, digestion, skin health, and recovery from injury.

Every treatment is individualized, combining traditional acupuncture principles with modern understanding of anatomy, neuroscience, and musculoskeletal medicine.

My Approach To Acupuncture

I integrate two complementary styles of acupuncture:

Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)

Traditional acupuncture views health through patterns of balance within the body. Treatment focuses on restoring normal function across multiple body systems, including digestion, sleep, stress regulation, hormonal health, and immune function.

Western Medical Acupuncture

Western acupuncture uses modern anatomy and neuroscience to influence muscles, connective tissue, nerves, and pain pathways. This approach is commonly used for musculoskeletal pain, injury rehabilitation, headaches, TMJ disorders, and chronic pain conditions.

What Can Acupuncture Help With?

Acupuncture may be incorporated into treatment plans for a wide variety of concerns, including:

  • Pain and musculoskeletal injuries
  • Chronic pain
  • Headaches and migraines
  • Stress and nervous system regulation
  • Sleep concerns
  • Hormonal health
  • Digestive symptoms
  • Skin conditions
  • Recovery and rehabilitation

Rather than treating a diagnosis alone, treatment is designed around the factors contributing to your symptoms and overall health.

What To Expect During Treatment

Your appointment begins with a brief discussion of your symptoms and treatment goals.

After selecting acupuncture points, fine sterile needles are gently inserted and typically remain in place for 15 to 30 minutes while you relax.

Many patients experience little discomfort during treatment and often describe feeling deeply relaxed afterwards.

The Goal Of Treatment

Whether you're seeking care for pain, stress, digestive concerns, hormonal health, or recovery from injury, the goal of acupuncture is to support your body's ability to regulate, recover, and function at its best.

Every treatment plan is individualized and evolves as your health changes over time.
